First 2008 Olympic Medal for T&T
Saturday, August 15, 2008: Richard Thompson gives Trinidad & Tobago their first medal in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.  Richard ran the 100m in 9.89 secs, a new personal best for him; coming in just behind Usain Bolt [Jamaica] who took gold with a time of 9.69 secs [new world record]; and ahead of Walter Dix [USA] who finished with bronze with a time of 9.91 secs.  Congratulations to all. Best of luck to the other T&T athletes who are yet to compete in their respective discipline.  GO T&T!!!

Many of you know that the sister of one of our loyal listeners, Jane aka Beauty Brain has been very ill.  Carlene Cabrera is in need of a kidney transplant.  Beauty Brain's annual pre-labor day event will now be a 'fun' raiser to assist her sister with medical expenses.  This all inclusive event is by pre-purchased tickets only, at a cost of $50.  No sales at the door!!
